Dawsongroup, the leading specialist asset rental business operating in several related markets within the European logistics sector, invests only in high quality premium products which has proved a key strategy in the success of all of its rental businesses. Established in 1935 originally as a general haulage business, the Group has evolved as an asset rental specialist and the Dawsonrentals brand has developed and diversified through successful acquisitions and organic growth since its inception. The group’s customer base is extremely varied stretching across a broad spectrum of sectors, sizes and operational types, thus enabling experience to be gained in a wide range of industries and markets.
As one of the UK’s largest independent rental companies, Dawsonrentals invests a huge amount of time in its research of suitable vehicles to ensure that its high specification boasts product quality and serviceability goals are met. Offering short term spot hire, operating lease, long term rental or contract hire, it offers flexible rental options provided by approaching 50 branches Europe wide and provides reliable local vehicle rental service as well as national coverage.
Having established itself as the UK’s leading sweeper contract hire/rental provider Dawsonrentals Sweeper Division took the decision to enter the closely related refuse collection vehicle market and have invested time and effort in their search for the best vehicles to suit and expand their operation. They already have 20 Heil Farid PN13 refuse and recycling vehicles mounted on 16t DAF chassis which are proving very successful, so it was little wonder that they looked closely at the Heil Farid mini compactor range of RCVs to fulfill this requirement for a smaller option vehicle. After careful appraisal an order was placed for 5 x MiniMatics on 7.5t GVW Mitsubishi Canter chassis. These vehicles were put into service during June and July this year.
Paul Shires, Managing Director, who is based at Brighouse, West Yorkshire, explained: “we have been working with Heil Farid now for a number of years and have found that their product performance more than exceeds our expectations. The new MiniMatics, mounted to the 7.5t GVW Mitsubishi Canter chassis, are operating at various customer locations. They are an ideal solution where remote or restricted access is a problem and offer excellent manoeuvrability too. We are very pleased with the results so far and are hopeful of expanding our refuse and recycling collection vehicle spot rental and contract hire operation over time”
MiniMatic – technical data:
Heil Farid MiniMatic 8 cu m body complete with Heil Farid comb bin lift mounted to a 7.5t GVW 4×2 Mitsubishi Canter. Coming from the Heil Farid satellite ‘Mini Compactor’ range of vehicles, the Heil Farid MiniMatic is a fully sealed, one piece construction body with compaction ratio of 3:1 with guaranteed no leakages, making it ideal for recycling or general waste collection.
It comes with an integral Heil Farid comb bin lift capable of handling bins from 120 litres up to 1,280 litres capacity and food waste caddies or ‘slave type’ bins. Alternatively, hand loading can be achieved by lowering the rear drop-down rave plate, which can be opened at a moments notice and safely stowed away using the bin lift. This, coupled with the large 8 cu m body capacity, makes the MiniMatic ideally suited for additional bulky waste collection services.
The unloading of waste is achieved by ejection plate, operated by a double acting telescopic cylinder, ensuring complete discharge of all waste materials collected.
